A refreshing and easy-to-make summer drink combining juicy watermelon, fresh mint, and zesty lime juice, perfect for cooling off on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600 grams) seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, washed and lightly crushed
  • Juice of 2 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons or 45 ml)
  • 2 cups (475 ml) cold water
  • 12 tablespoons (1225 grams) granulated sugar, honey, or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut approximately 4 cups (600 grams) of seedless watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds if necessary.
  2. Add the watermelon cubes and 10-12 lightly crushed fresh mint leaves into a blender.
  3. Pour in 2 cups (475 ml) of cold water and blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and vibrant pink.
  4. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl or pitcher, pressing the pulp gently to extract juice. Discard solids (optional for smoother texture).
  5. Stir in the juice of 2 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons/45 ml). Add 1-2 tablespoons (12-25 grams) of sugar, honey, or agave syrup, adjusting sweetness to taste. Stir until dissolved.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill and let flavors meld.
  7. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge if desired.

Notes

Lightly crush mint leaves before blending to release aroma without bitterness. Straining is optional but recommended for a smoother texture. Adjust sweetness based on watermelon ripeness. Fresh lime juice is preferred over bottled for best flavor. Chill thoroughly before serving. Can prepare the night before for deeper flavor.
