A refreshing, guilt-free watermelon slushie made with fresh watermelon, lime juice, and iceโ€”no added sugar needed. Perfect for hot summer days and quick to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (about 600 grams) seedless watermelon, cut into cubes
  • 1 to 1 ยฝ cups (240360 ml) ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice
  • Mint leaves (optional, for garnish or blending)
  • 23 tablespoons (3045 ml) water (optional, for thinner consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Watermelon: Cut about 4 cups (600 grams) of seedless watermelon into medium-sized cubes, removing any seeds if necessary.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place watermelon cubes, 1 to 1 ยฝ cups (240-360 ml) ice cubes, and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice into the blender. Add 2-3 tablespoons (30-45 ml) water if needed to help blend.
  3. Blend Until Smooth and Slushy: Pulse initially to break down ice, then blend on high speed for 45 seconds to 1 minute until thick and icy.
  4. Adjust Consistency and Flavor: If too thick, add a splash more water and blend briefly. Add more lime juice if desired.
  5. Serve Immediately: Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with mint leaves if desired, and serve within 10 minutes.

Notes

For a thicker slushie, freeze watermelon cubes overnight and reduce or skip ice. Avoid overblending to prevent watery texture. Use ripe watermelon for best natural sweetness. Lime juice is essential for balancing sweetness. Blend in batches if blender is small.
