A quick and easy fresh wheatgrass shot recipe that delivers a natural energy boost without caffeine jitters. Perfect for busy mornings or mid-afternoon slumps, this vibrant green shot is packed with nutrients and refreshing flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (30 grams) fresh wheatgrass
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)

Instructions

  1. Harvest and wash the wheatgrass thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit (about 2 minutes).
  2. Juice the wheatgrass using a wheatgrass juicer to collect roughly 1.5 ounces (45 ml) of juice. If using a blender, chop wheatgrass into smaller pieces, add 1/4 cup (60 ml) filtered water, and blend on high for about 30 seconds until finely chopped.
  3. Strain the blended wheatgrass through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a small bowl, pressing gently to extract as much juice as possible (about 3 minutes).
  4. Stir in optional lemon juice and/or grated ginger to add brightness and spice.
  5. Pour the fresh wheatgrass shot into a small glass and serve immediately. For best results, consume on an empty stomach or first thing in the morning.

Notes

Use fresh wheatgrass for best flavor and nutrient retention; juice within 24 hours of harvest. If blending, pulse briefly to avoid bitterness and strain thoroughly to remove pulp. Start with half a shot if new to wheatgrass. Clean equipment immediately after use to prevent residue buildup. Dilute with water or add ice cubes if the shot is too strong.
