Graveyard Dirt Shots Recipe Easy Halloween Party Treat

Graveyard Dirt Shots - featured image

A spooky and fun Halloween dessert featuring chocolate pudding, cookie crumbs, and gummy worms, perfect for parties or family celebrations.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate pudding mix
  • Milk (whole milk or dairy-free alternatives like almond milk or oat milk)
  • Chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed into crumbs)
  • Gummy worms
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Mini tombstone decorations (chocolate wafers, cookies, or candy)
  • Optional toppings (crushed candy, sprinkles, or Halloween-themed decorations)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk according to the package instructions. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to set.
  2. Crush the cookies: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a resealable plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor.
  3. Prep the serving cups: Line up your shot glasses or small cups. Add a thin layer of cookie crumbs to the bottom of each cup to resemble the ‘ground.’
  4. Layer the pudding: Spoon or pipe the set chocolate pudding onto the cookie crumb base, filling the cups about halfway.
  5. Add whipped cream: If using, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the pudding for a light and creamy layer.
  6. Create the graveyard look: Sprinkle more crushed cookies on top of the whipped cream to mimic dirt. Place gummy worms so they appear to be crawling out of the ‘grave.’
  7. Decorate your tombstones: Write spooky messages like ‘RIP’ or ‘Boo!’ on mini chocolate wafers or cookies using edible markers or icing. Stick them into the dirt layer.
  8. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the dirt shots for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together. Serve chilled for the best texture and taste.

Notes

For a vegan option, use dairy-free pudding, milk, and whipped cream. Customize with candy eyeballs, edible glitter, or other Halloween-themed decorations.
