A quick and easy wellness shot combining fresh turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, and a touch of sweetness to provide a natural energy boost and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 inches fresh turmeric root, peeled and chopped
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and chopped
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 12 teaspoons raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) filtered water

Instructions

  1. Peel about 2 inches each of fresh turmeric and ginger using the edge of a spoon and chop into smaller pieces.
  2. Cut one medium lemon in half and squeeze the juice into your blender or mixing bowl, removing seeds.
  3. Add 1-2 teaspoons of raw honey or maple syrup (optional) and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup (120 ml) of filtered water into the blender with the roots, lemon juice, sweetener, and pepper. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and vibrant orange.
  5. Optional: Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove fibrous pulp.
  6. Divide the shot into small glasses or bottles and enjoy immediately.
  7. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shake well before drinking.

Notes

Use fresh turmeric and ginger roots for best flavor and nutrient content. The pinch of black pepper enhances turmeric absorption. Strain the shot if you prefer a smoother texture. Adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup to balance the spice. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and shake well before use. Fresh turmeric can stain surfaces and hands, so handle carefully or wear gloves.
