Iced Vanilla Chai Latte

This creamy, spiced Iced Vanilla Chai Latte combines the cozy flavors of chai tea with sweet vanilla and milk, served over ice for a refreshing café-style treat. It’s easy to make at home and customizable for any diet or sweetness preference.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 chai tea bag (or 1 tablespoon loose leaf chai)
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 12 tablespoons vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (whole, oat, almond, or coconut)
  • Ice (enough to fill a tall glass)
  • Optional: ground cinnamon or nutmeg, for garnish
  • Optional: whipped cream, for topping

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup (240ml) of water using a kettle or small pot.
  2. Place the chai tea bag (or loose leaf chai in an infuser) in a mug and pour over the hot water. Steep for 5–7 minutes.
  3. While the tea is hot, stir in 1–2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup (or homemade syrup/vanilla extract and sugar).
  4. Let the chai cool for a few minutes, or chill in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  6. Pour the cooled chai over the ice.
  7. Add 1/2 cup (120ml) of milk and stir gently.
  8. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use oat, almond, soy, or coconut milk. Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of vanilla syrup. Make ahead by brewing chai and chilling in the fridge; add milk and ice when serving. For extra spice, add a pinch of ground ginger or black pepper while steeping. Use cold milk for best results.
