A refreshing mojito with a unique twist of melon liqueur, combining classic mint and lime flavors with a sweet, fruity undertone. Perfect for easy summer sipping and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) melon liqueur (e.g., Midori)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Irish whiskey or light white rum
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup
  • 34 oz (90120 ml) soda water
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice
  • Lime slices and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare a clean highball glass and add 10-12 fresh mint leaves.
  2. Gently muddle the mint about 10-15 times to release oils without tearing the leaves.
  3. Add 1 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the glass and stir gently to combine.
  4. Pour in 2 oz Irish whiskey or light white rum, followed by 1 oz melon liqueur. Stir gently to blend flavors.
  5. Fill the glass with crushed ice or ice cubes as preferred.
  6. Top with 3-4 oz soda water to fill the glass.
  7. Stir gently once more to combine without bruising the mint further.
  8. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime slice on the rim.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill melon liqueur and soda water before use. For extra cold drinks, chill the glass or add frozen lime slices. Simple syrup can be homemade or store-bought; agave nectar or honey can be used as alternatives for vegan or paleo diets.
