Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 fresh limes (about 1 cup of lime juice)
  • 1 cup (150 g) pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 4 cups (1 liter) cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda (optional)
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juice the limes using a handheld or electric juicer to get about 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lime juice. Set aside.
  2. In a blender, combine 1 cup (150 g) of pitted cherries with 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water. Blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer if a smoother drink is desired.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup (200 g) of granulated sugar with 1 cup (240 ml) of boiling water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, cherry puree, and simple syrup. Stir well to mix the flavors together.
  5. Add 4 cups (1 liter) of cold water to the pitcher and stir again. Then, fill the pitcher with ice cubes to keep it chilled.
  6. Optional: Replace half of the cold water with club soda or sparkling water for a fizzy twist. Stir gently to avoid losing the bubbles.
  7. Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves. Serve in glasses over ice and enjoy!

Notes

For a smoother drink, strain the cherry puree. Chill all ingredients beforehand for the best results. Adjust sweetness and tartness to your preference.
