Soft, tender apples coated in a luscious caramel sauce with warm cinnamon spice, perfect for cozy fall evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 firm apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into even wedges. Arrange them in the baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and whisk until dissolved.
  4. Slowly pour in 1/4 cup of heavy cream, stirring constantly. Add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. Drizzle the warm caramel sauce evenly over the apples, ensuring every piece is coated.
  6. Bake the apples for 25-30 minutes or until they are tender and bubbling. Check with a forkโ€”if it slides in easily, theyโ€™re ready.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use fresh, firm apples for the best texture. Stir constantly while making the caramel to prevent burning. Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
