Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized golden apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2โ€“3 cinnamon sticks (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2โ€“3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)

  4. Add the tea bags and let them steep for another 3โ€“5 minutes, stirring gently.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the lemon juice and honey. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Add optional spices if desired.
  6. Strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer and pour into mugs or a teapot for serving.
  7. Garnish with a slice of fresh apple or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Serve hot or let cool for iced tea.
