A quick and easy homemade Java Chip Frappuccino that blends bold coffee, chocolate chips, and creamy ice for a delicious cafรฉ-style treat in just five minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk (whole, almond, or oat milk)
  • 1/4 cup (45 g) mini chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (5 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups (120180 g) ice cubes
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Chocolate syrup (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of your favorite coffee and let it cool completely.
  2. Add cooled coffee, 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk, 2 tablespoons (25 g) sugar, 1 tablespoon (5 g) cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract to a blender. Pulse to mix.
  3. Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups (120-180 g) ice cubes and blend on high for 30-45 seconds until thick and smooth.
  4. Pour the frappuccino into a large bowl and gently fold in 1/4 cup (45 g) mini chocolate chips to keep them crunchy.
  5. Serve in tall glasses topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup if desired.
  6. Enjoy immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Use cooled coffee to prevent melting the ice and ruining texture. Fold in chocolate chips after blending to keep them crunchy. If blender struggles with ice, pulse in short bursts. Slightly frozen coffee ice cubes can enhance coffee flavor without watering down the drink. Best enjoyed fresh; leftovers can be refrigerated up to 24 hours but may require re-blending with fresh ice.
