Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) pink velvet cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons (15 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 23 drops red food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Sprinkles or crushed pink velvet cake crumbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Measure out 2 cups (480 ml) of vanilla ice cream and 1/2 cup (120 ml) of milk. Let the ice cream sit out for about 5 minutes to soften slightly.
  2. In your blender, add the softened ice cream, milk, and 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka. Pour in 1/4 cup (30 g) pink velvet cake mix and 2 tablespoons (15 g) powdered sugar.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract. If desired, add 2-3 drops of red food coloring to intensify the pink color.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Pause and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, then blend again until creamy and lump-free.
  5. Taste a small spoonful. If sweeter, add more powdered sugar and blend briefly. For thicker shake, add more ice cream; for thinner, add a splash more milk.
  6. Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses or mason jars. Top generously with whipped cream and sprinkle with pink velvet cake crumbs or sprinkles.
  7. Serve immediately to enjoy the frosty, creamy texture.

Notes

Use slightly softened ice cream for smoother blending. Blend in intervals to avoid overheating the blender. Start with 1/4 cup vodka and adjust after tasting to avoid overpowering the shake. Keep glasses chilled for a colder drink. For dairy-free versions, substitute milk and ice cream with almond, oat, or coconut alternatives.
