A refreshing summer soda combining floral lavender and zesty lemon, perfect for lazy afternoons or backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 large lemons)
  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 46 cups sparkling water
  • Ice (optional)
  • Fresh lavender sprigs or lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the lavender syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups of water, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon of dried lavender. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and allow it to steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the syrup: Using a fine mesh strainer, strain out the lavender buds. Pour the syrup into a jar or container and let it cool completely.
  3. Juice the lemons: While the syrup is cooling, squeeze your lemons to extract about 1/2 cup of fresh juice. Strain out any seeds or pulp.
  4. Mix the soda: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lavender syrup and fresh lemon juice. Stir until well blended.
  5. Add sparkling water: Slowly pour in 4-6 cups of sparkling water, depending on how strong you want the flavor to be. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Serve: Fill glasses with ice, pour the soda over, and garnish with fresh lavender sprigs or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

[‘Donโ€™t over-steep the lavender to avoid bitterness.’, ‘Ensure the lavender syrup is completely cooled before mixing the soda.’, ‘Use high-quality sparkling water for the best flavor.’, ‘Experiment with garnishes like mint leaves or edible flowers.’]
