A cozy and flavorful twist on the classic Old Fashioned, featuring rich maple sweetness, warm cinnamon spice, and a hint of orange. Perfect for chilly evenings and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz bourbon (Maker’s Mark or Woodford Reserve recommended)
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Orange peel for garnish
  • Ice (large cubes or single sphere)
  • Optional: cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Glass: Start by adding one large ice cube or a few smaller cubes to your Old Fashioned glass.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz (60 ml) of bourbon, 1 tsp (5 ml) of maple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  3. Add Cinnamon: Sprinkle a small pinch of ground cinnamon into the mixture. Stir gently with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds to combine the flavors.
  4. Strain and Pour: If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture into your prepared glass. Otherwise, pour directly over the ice.
  5. Garnish: Use a peeler to cut a strip of orange peel. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it into the glass. Add a cinnamon stick if desired.
  6. Sip and Enjoy: Take a moment to admire your creation. The aromas of maple, cinnamon, and orange are pure fall bliss!
