Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe - featured image

A simple, refreshing Moscow Mule cocktail made with vodka, fresh lime juice, and spicy ginger beer, served in a chilled classic copper mug for the perfect crisp and fizzy experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 4 to 6 ounces chilled ginger beer
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill the copper mug)
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprig (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the copper mug in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Cut a fresh lime in half and juice 1 ounce (30 ml) of lime juice using a citrus juicer or reamer. Strain if desired.
  3. Remove the chilled mug from the freezer and pour in 2 ounces (60 ml) of vodka and the freshly squeezed lime juice.
  4. Fill the mug nearly to the top with ice cubes.
  5. Slowly top off the mug with 4 to 6 ounces (120-180 ml) of chilled ginger beer, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
  6. Stir gently with a bar spoon or stirrer to mix ingredients without flattening the ginger beer.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint. Optionally, rim the mug with lime juice and salt for a savory twist.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. Chill the copper mug beforehand to keep the drink colder longer. Use a quality ginger beer with a spicy kick, such as Fever-Tree or Bundaberg. Stir gently to preserve carbonation. For a non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and increase ginger beer and lime juice. Large ice cubes melt slower and keep the drink from diluting too quickly.
