bomb pop jello shots - featured image

A fun and refreshing layered jello shot recipe inspired by the classic red, white, and blue Bomb Pop popsicle, combining cherry, lime, and blue raspberry flavors with vodka for a nostalgic adult treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cherry-flavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold vodka (smooth brand like Tito’s recommended)
  • 1 cup lime-flavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold vodka
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup blue raspberry-flavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold vodka
  • Optional garnish: small fresh berries or a sprig of mint

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cherry Layer: Dissolve 1 cup cherry gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water, stir until dissolved (about 2 minutes). Let cool for 10 minutes, then stir in 1/2 cup cold vodka. Pour into shot cups filling about one-third full. Refrigerate for 45 minutes to 1 hour until partially set but tacky on top.
  2. Make the Lime Layer: Dissolve 1 cup lime gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water. Stir well and let cool for 10 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup cold vodka and 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk. Gently spoon over the cherry layer. Refrigerate for 45 minutes to 1 hour until set.
  3. Prepare the Blue Raspberry Layer: Dissolve 1 cup blue raspberry gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water. Let cool for 10 minutes, then stir in 1/2 cup cold vodka. Carefully layer over the lime layer. Chill for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  4. Check for Setting: The top should be firm but jiggle slightly. If too soft, refrigerate longer. If layers blend, previous layer was not set enough.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Add optional garnishes like a small berry or mint leaf. Keep chilled until serving.

Notes

Cool gelatin mixtures to room temperature before adding vodka to prevent alcohol evaporation and melting layers. Pour layers slowly over the back of a spoon to keep layers distinct. Wait at least 45 minutes between layers for proper setting. Use small spoon or toothpick to loosen shots before serving. Store leftovers in airtight container in refrigerator up to 3 days. Avoid freezing unless making frozen treats.
