This peach sweet tea recipe combines fruity sweetness and refreshing tea, creating a delicious summer drink that’s perfect for gatherings or relaxing afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups (960ml) water
  • Ice
  • Optional garnish: fresh peach slices, mint leaves, or lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup (200g) of granulated sugar, 1 cup (240ml) of water, and 2 ripe peaches, sliced. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften, about 10 minutes.
  2. Simmer and Mash: Once the peaches are soft, use a wooden spoon or potato masher to gently mash the peaches in the saucepan. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Strain the Syrup: Remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool slightly. Strain it through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or jar, discarding the peach pulp. Set the syrup aside.
  4. Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups (960ml) of water to a boil. Add 4 black tea bags and steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool slightly.
  5. Mix the Tea: In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea and peach syrup. Stir well to incorporate the flavors.
  6. Chill and Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the peach sweet tea over the top. Garnish with fresh peach slices, mint leaves, or lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

[‘Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor.’, ‘Avoid over-steeping the tea to prevent bitterness.’, ‘Adjust the sweetness of the peach syrup to your preference.’, ‘Serve chilled over ice for maximum refreshment.’, ‘Experiment with garnishes like mint or lemon for added flavor.’]
