A fun and festive jello shots tray shaped like a football field, perfect for game day parties. Easy to make with simple ingredients and customizable decorations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (6 oz / 170 g) lime-flavored gelatin (Jell-O brand recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or flavored liquor of choice (e.g., citrus vodka)
  • White icing or white gel icing tube (for drawing yard lines)
  • Mini pretzel sticks (for goalposts, thin and straight)
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Plastic shot cups (around 30-40, about 1 oz / 30 ml size)

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof mixing bowl, pour 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water over the lime gelatin powder. Stir vigorously until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water and 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or chosen liquor. Add green food coloring if desired for deeper color.
  3. Arrange plastic shot cups on a tray in a football field shape. Pour gelatin mixture into each cup about 3/4 full, taking about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the tray in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or until gelatin is firm. Avoid moving the tray during chilling.
  5. Once set, use white icing to draw yard lines on top of the jello shots. Insert mini pretzel sticks at each end as goalposts. Decorate further if desired.

Notes

Dissolve gelatin fully in boiling water before adding cold liquids to avoid clumping. Balance alcohol amount to ensure shots set firmly. Use a zip-top bag as a piping bag alternative. For gluten-free, replace pretzels with celery sticks or candy sticks. Shots need at least 3 hours chilling; overnight is best. Avoid moving tray while setting to keep surface smooth.
