A refreshing and easy summer drink combining sweet tea, fresh peaches, and smooth bourbon into a perfect frozen slushie.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups (950 ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
  • 2 large fresh peaches, peeled and chopped (or 1 cup / 240 ml peach nectar)
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) bourbon
  • 3 cups (about 24 oz) ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh peach slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (950 ml) of water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and steep 4 black tea bags for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags and stir in 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill thoroughly.
  3. While tea cools, peel and chop 2 large peaches. Remove pits and cut into chunks. If using peach nectar instead, skip this step.
  4. In a blender, combine chilled sweet tea (about 2 cups / 475 ml), chopped peaches or peach nectar (1 cup / 240 ml), 3/4 cup (180 ml) bourbon, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice, and 3 cups (about 24 oz) of ice cubes.
  5. Pulse on high for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is thick and slushy. If too thick, add a splash of tea or peach nectar; if too thin, add more ice and blend again.
  6. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with fresh peach slices if desired. Optionally, rim glasses with sugar or cinnamon sugar for a subtle twist.

Notes

Use crushed ice if your blender isn’t powerful to avoid big chunks. Chill the tea thoroughly before blending to keep the slushie texture. Adjust bourbon amount to taste to avoid overpowering flavors. Fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor better than bottled. For a stronger peach flavor, blend in frozen peaches. Prepare tea and peaches a day ahead for convenience.
