Perfect Negroni Classic Cocktail Recipe - featured image

A classic, balanced cocktail made with equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, garnished with fresh orange peel. Quick and easy to prepare, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 oz (30 ml) London dry gin (e.g., Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Campari
  • 1 oz (30 ml) sweet vermouth (e.g., Carpano Antica Formula)
  • 1 strip fresh orange peel
  • Ice cubes (preferably large, clear cubes)

Instructions

  1. Chill your old-fashioned glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water.
  2. Measure and combine 1 oz gin, 1 oz Campari, and 1 oz sweet vermouth into a mixing glass.
  3. Add large ice cubes to the mixing glass.
  4. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 20-30 seconds to chill and blend without over-diluting.
  5. Empty the chilled glass of ice water if used, then strain the cocktail into it over fresh ice cubes.
  6. Twist a strip of fresh orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in as garnish.

Notes

Use large ice cubes to prevent quick dilution. Stir gently instead of shaking to avoid bruising the spirits. Freshly peel the orange just before serving for best aroma. For a less bitter drink, rinse the glass with a splash of gin before pouring the cocktail.
