Refreshing Aperol Spritz - featured image

A sparkling, easy-to-make cocktail featuring Aperol, prosecco, sparkling water, and fresh orange slices for a refreshing and light drink perfect for warm weather and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ounces Aperol
  • 3 ounces dry or extra dry prosecco
  • 1 ounce sparkling water
  • Fresh orange slices
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: orange zest
  • Optional: fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme

Instructions

  1. Fill a large wine glass about two-thirds full with fresh ice cubes to chill the glass.
  2. Pour 3 ounces (90 ml) of Aperol over the ice.
  3. Slowly add 3 ounces (90 ml) of chilled prosecco, pouring gently down the side of the glass or over a spoon to preserve bubbles.
  4. Top the drink with 1 ounce (30 ml) of sparkling water; adjust to taste if you prefer it lighter.
  5. Garnish with a fresh orange slice or twist a strip of orange peel over the top for zest and aroma. Optionally add a sprig of rosemary for a herbal note.
  6. Gently stir the drink with a spoon or stirrer to combine ingredients without losing bubbles.
  7. Serve immediately while fresh and bubbly.

Notes

Chill all ingredients and glasses before making the spritz to keep bubbles lively. Pour prosecco gently over a spoon or glass edge to preserve fizz. Use large, clear ice cubes to avoid quick dilution. Avoid vigorous stirring to maintain bubbles. Fresh orange slices add natural citrus aroma and sweetness that bottled bitters cannot replicate.
