A quick and easy apple cider vinegar morning shot that provides a gentle, steady energy boost without the jitters of coffee. This refreshing shot combines tartness, sweetness, and a hint of spice for a balanced and invigorating start to your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the ‘mother’
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • A pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) filtered water

Instructions

  1. Measure out 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar into a mixing jar or glass.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice to the jar.
  3. Grate about 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger and add it to the jar.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon (7 grams) of raw honey and stir or shake vigorously to combine.
  5. Pour in 1/4 cup (60 ml) of filtered water to dilute the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) of ground cinnamon on top and give the mixture one last shake or stir.
  7. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 minutes to allow flavors to meld and ginger to infuse.
  8. Drink immediately, either as a quick shot or sip slowly. Follow with a glass of water if desired.

Notes

Use raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the ‘mother’ for best health benefits and flavor. Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled for brightness. If honey is difficult to mix, warm the water slightly before combining. Start with smaller amounts of vinegar if you have a sensitive stomach. Shots can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 48 hours; shake well before drinking.
