  • ยฝ to ยพ cup (100150 g) granulated sugar, adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes, plenty for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (950 ml) of filtered water to a rolling boil in a kettle or pot (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place 4 black tea bags into a large heatproof pitcher or bowl. Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and steep for 5 to 7 minutes, depending on desired strength.

  7. In a large pitcher, combine the chilled tea and fresh lemon juice. Stir gently to combine.
  8. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the Arnold Palmer drink over, and garnish with fresh mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

Use freshly brewed black tea and fresh-squeezed lemon juice for best flavor. Dissolve sugar in hot tea to avoid graininess. Chill tea completely before mixing with lemon juice. Optional: add sparkling water before serving for fizz. Variations include using green or herbal tea, spiking with bourbon or vodka, or using sugar substitutes.
