A zesty and refreshing twist on the classic margarita, combining crisp Corona beer with tequila, fresh lime juice, and a salted chili rim. Perfect for summer fun and easy to make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) blanco or silver tequila
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 12 ounces (355 ml) chilled Corona beer
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • Salt for rimming the glass (kosher or sea salt)
  • Pinch of chili powder (optional, for rim)
  • Lime wedges for garnish and rim preparation

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass.
  2. Dip the rim into a small plate sprinkled with kosher salt mixed with a pinch of chili powder.
  3. Freshly squeeze about 1 ounce (30 ml) of lime juice.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila, 1 ounce (30 ml) lime juice, 1/2 ounce (15 ml) orange liqueur, and 1/2 ounce (15 ml) simple syrup if using.
  5. Add ice to fill the shaker halfway and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice, leaving some room at the top.
  7. Slowly pour 12 ounces (355 ml) of chilled Corona beer into the glass, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
  8. Give a gentle stir with a bar spoon if needed.
  9. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim or floating in the drink.
  10. Enjoy immediately for best fizz and freshness.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill all ingredients and glass beforehand. Pour Corona slowly to preserve carbonation. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. Avoid shaking beer to prevent flattening. For a spicy twist, add jalapeรฑo slices. For a frozen version, blend ingredients except beer with ice and add beer last.
