A quick and easy cocktail combining tart fresh lemon juice with sweet black raspberry liqueur, perfect for summer parties and backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka (preferably Titoโ€™s or Absolut)
  • 1 oz black raspberry liqueur (Chambord recommended)
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
  • 34 fresh black raspberries (optional, for muddling)
  • Sugar (for rimming the glass)
  • Lemon twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill martini glasses in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Moisten the rim of each glass with a lemon wedge, then dip into superfine sugar to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. Optional: In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle 3-4 fresh black raspberries to release juices without over-mashing.
  4. Add 2 oz vodka, 1 oz black raspberry liqueur, 1 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice cubes.
  6. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until frosty and cold.
  7. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail into the prepared martini glasses to remove seeds and ice shards.
  8. Garnish with a lemon twist by twisting it over the glass to release oils, rim the edge, and drop it in.
  9. Optional: Add a splash of sparkling water or club soda before serving for a light fizz.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the best brightness; avoid over-muddling raspberries to prevent bitterness; chill glasses beforehand for a crisp cocktail; double strain if muddling berries to avoid seeds; add sparkling water for a refreshing fizz; simple syrup can be substituted with natural sweeteners for a low-sugar version.
