A bright, tangy, and lightly sweet cocktail combining fresh blueberries, lemon juice, and vodka for a perfect summer drink that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ยฝ cup fresh blueberries (fresh preferred, frozen works)
  • 1 ยฝ ounces vodka (e.g., Titoโ€™s or Absolut)
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • ยฝ to ยพ ounce simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 3 to 4 ounces cold water or club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse ยฝ cup fresh blueberries and slice one lemon into thin rounds. Juice another lemon to get 1 ounce fresh lemon juice. Measure 1 ยฝ ounces vodka and simple syrup to taste.
  2. In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add the blueberries. Gently muddle with a muddler or back of a wooden spoon to release juice without crushing seeds.
  3. Add vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds or stir briskly for 20 seconds if no shaker is available.
  5. Strain the mixture into a highball or Collins glass filled with fresh ice, or skip straining for a rustic look.
  6. Top with 3 to 4 ounces cold water or club soda, adjusting to taste.
  7. Garnish with whole blueberries, a lemon slice, and a sprig of fresh mint if desired. Stir gently and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Adjust simple syrup to taste to balance tartness. Chill glass beforehand for extra refreshment. For a lower-calorie option, substitute simple syrup with natural sweeteners like stevia syrup. Muddle blueberries gently to avoid bitterness from seeds. Prepare vodka, lemon juice, and syrup mixture up to 24 hours ahead; add muddled blueberries and soda just before serving.
