A quick and easy homemade cherry lime slushie packed with fresh berries and a zesty lime kick, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ยฝ cups fresh cherries, pitted (frozen cherries work too)
  • 1 cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries and raspberries recommended)
  • ยผ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • ยผ cup simple syrup (homemade or store-bought, adjust sweetness to taste)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • ยฝ cup cold water or sparkling water
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse fresh cherries and berries under cold water. Pit the cherries by slicing them in half and removing the pits.
  2. Roll the limes on the counter to loosen juice, then cut in half and squeeze out ยผ cup of fresh lime juice. Strain to remove seeds if necessary.
  3. If making homemade simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, then cool completely.
  4. Add cherries, mixed berries, lime juice, simple syrup, and cold water or sparkling water to a high-speed blender. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds to combine.
  5. Add 2 cups of ice cubes. Pulse and blend until the texture is slushie-like and smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more simple syrup if too tart, or add a splash of water if too thick. Blend briefly again if needed.
  7. Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with fresh mint leaves or a lime wheel, and serve immediately.

Notes

If you don’t have a high-powered blender, crush ice separately using a rolling pin inside a zip-top bag and stir into the berry and lime mixture for a less smooth texture. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Adjust sweetness gradually. Chill glasses before serving for extra refreshment. Garnish with mint for aroma and flavor balance.
