A quick and easy homemade summer drink combining cherry soda, vanilla ice cream, and cherry syrup for a fizzy, creamy treat perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream per serving (about 1 cup or 240 ml)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cherry soda or cream soda mix
  • 1 tablespoon cherry syrup per serving
  • A few maraschino cherries for garnish (optional)
  • ยผ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the serving glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour 1 tablespoon of cherry syrup into the bottom of the chilled glass.
  3. Add 2 generous scoops (about ยฝ cup or 120 grams each) of vanilla ice cream on top of the syrup.
  4. Slowly pour 1 cup (240 ml) of chilled cherry soda and cream soda mix over the ice cream.
  5. Drizzle about ยผ teaspoon of vanilla extract over the top.
  6. Garnish with a couple of maraschino cherries and add ice cubes around the edges if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw and long spoon.

Notes

Use high-quality vanilla ice cream for best flavor and texture. Chill all ingredients and glassware to keep the float cold longer. Pour soda slowly to control fizz and prevent overflow. For a dairy-free version, substitute vanilla ice cream with coconut milk ice cream and use sparkling water with cherry syrup instead of cherry soda.
