A quick and easy homemade lemon beer drink that combines craft beer with fresh lemon juice and a touch of honey for a crisp, refreshing summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (355 ml) craft beer (pale ale or light lager recommended)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lemon juice (about one large lemon)
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) honey or simple syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices or wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Roll the lemon on the counter to loosen the juice, then cut it in half and extract about 2 ounces (60 ml) of fresh juice using a juicer or reamer. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if desired.
  2. In your serving glass, stir 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of honey into the lemon juice until fully dissolved.
  3. Fill the glass halfway with ice cubes to chill the drink without watering it down too quickly.
  4. Slowly pour 12 ounces (355 ml) of craft beer over the ice and lemon-honey mixture, pouring gently to preserve bubbles and create a light frothy head.
  5. Add a lemon slice or wedge on the rim or float it atop the drink for garnish and extra aroma.
  6. Serve immediately for best flavor and carbonation.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for best flavor. Adjust honey or simple syrup to balance tartness. Pour beer slowly to preserve carbonation. Serve immediately to keep bubbles lively. For gluten-free, use gluten-free beer or sparkling cider. Simple syrup is a vegan alternative to honey.
