A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita cocktail that balances sweet strawberries, tart lime, and smooth tequila for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups (225 g) frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 cup (120 g) ice cubes
  • Coarse salt (for rimming the glass, optional)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glasses by pouring a thin layer of coarse salt onto a small plate. Rub the rim of your margarita glass with a lime wedge until wet, then gently press the rim into the salt to coat it evenly. Set aside.
  2. In your blender, add frozen strawberries, tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup.
  3. Add ice cubes to the blender.
  4. Pulse the blender on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute until smooth and slushy. If too thick, add a splash of water or lime juice; if too thin, add more ice cubes.
  5. Taste and add more agave syrup if desired, then blend briefly again.
  6. Pour the frozen strawberry margarita into prepared glasses.
  7. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not over-blend to avoid watery texture. Use good-quality tequila for best flavor. Rimming the glass with salt enhances the citrus notes and balances sweetness. For a dairy-free or vegan option, this recipe is naturally suitable. Adjust agave syrup to control sweetness. Fresh lime juice is preferred over bottled for best flavor.
