A refreshing frozen strawberry margarita with a unique Tajin sugar rim that balances sweet, tart, and spicy flavors, perfect for summer sipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice
  • Tajin seasoning (for rim)
  • Granulated sugar (for rim)
  • Optional: fresh strawberry or lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix equal parts Tajin seasoning and granulated sugar (about 1 tablespoon each). Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the Tajin sugar mixture to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Hull and halve about 1 cup of fresh strawberries. If using frozen, thaw slightly before blending.
  3. In a blender, combine strawberries, 2 ounces tequila blanco, 1 ounce triple sec, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 1/2 ounce simple syrup, and 2 cups ice.
  4. Blend on high until smooth and slushy, about 30-45 seconds. Adjust consistency by adding water or lime juice if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lime juice as desired.
  6. Pour the frozen margarita into the prepared glass carefully, avoiding disturbing the Tajin sugar rim.
  7. Garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wedge on the rim.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. If blender is not powerful, pulse in bursts to avoid overheating. Prepare Tajin sugar rim just before serving for best taste. For multiple servings, blend in smaller batches and keep ingredients chilled. Adjust sweetness by varying simple syrup amount. Substitute frozen strawberries if fresh are unavailable.
