A quick and easy frozen watermelon lime margarita slushie that’s perfect for summer gatherings, combining juicy watermelon, fresh lime, and tequila for a refreshing boozy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed and frozen (seedless)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 45 limes)
  • 1/4 cup tequila blanco
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (Triple Sec or Cointreau, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Coarse salt or Tajรญn for rimming glasses
  • Lime wedges or thin watermelon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Freeze the watermelon cubes for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Prepare glasses by rubbing lime wedge around rims and dipping into coarse salt or Tajรญn. Set aside.
  3. Juice the limes to get about 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, strain to remove seeds and pulp if desired.
  4. In a high-speed blender, combine frozen watermelon cubes, lime juice, tequila blanco, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and ice cubes.
  5. Pulse to break down chunks, then blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and icy. Add a splash of cold water or more lime juice if texture is too thick.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lime juice, then blend briefly again.
  7. Pour the slushie into prepared glasses and garnish with a lime wedge or small watermelon slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen watermelon chunks instead of just ice for better flavor and texture. Pulse blender before full speed to avoid overheating. Chill glasses before serving for extra refreshment. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and orange liqueur and add sparkling water.
