  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • ยพ oz raw honey
  • 3โ€“4 thin slices fresh ginger
  • 6โ€“8 fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Muddle the ginger and mint: Add the fresh ginger slices and mint leaves to your cocktail shaker. Gently press and twist with your muddler for about 10โ€“15 seconds to release the oils and juices.
  2. Add the honey and lemon juice: Pour in the raw honey and fresh lemon juice. If your honey is thick, let it sit in the shaker for a minute to soften before shaking.
  3. Pour in the Scotch: Add 2 oz of your chosen Scotch. Give everything a quick stir with a bar spoon to start incorporating the honey before you add ice.
  4. Shake with ice: Fill your shaker with ice cubesโ€”about ยพ full. Seal it tightly and shake vigorously for 15โ€“20 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  5. Double strain into a glass: Fill your rocks glass with one large ice cube or a few smaller ones. Strain the cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer into the glass.
  6. Garnish and serve: Slap a mint sprig between your palms to release its aroma, then place it on top of the ice. Add a thin slice of fresh ginger or a lemon wheel if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Warm honey if crystallized for easier mixing. Use large ice cubes to slow dilution. Double-strain to remove ginger fibers and mint bits.
