A quick and easy iced vanilla matcha latte recipe that combines creamy sweetness with vibrant matcha flavor, perfect for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon (about 2 grams) high-quality culinary-grade matcha powder
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vanilla syrup
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk of choice (whole, almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) hot water (about 175ยฐF or 80ยฐC)

Instructions

  1. Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a small bowl or cup to avoid clumps.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of hot water (around 175ยฐF or 80ยฐC) over the matcha.
  3. Whisk the matcha and water briskly in a zigzag motion using a bamboo whisk or small regular whisk until frothy and fully dissolved, about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Add about 1 cup of ice cubes to a tall glass or mason jar.
  5. Pour 2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup over the ice, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  6. Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the ice and vanilla syrup, then add 1 cup of your chosen milk.
  7. Stir gently with a long spoon or cover and shake the glass to mix everything uniformly.
  8. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of matcha powder or a vanilla bean.

Notes

Always sift matcha powder to avoid lumps. Use water at about 175ยฐF to prevent bitterness. Shake or stir well before serving to keep the drink fresh and well blended. Adjust vanilla syrup sweetness to taste or substitute with honey, agave, or sugar-free vanilla extract for dietary preferences. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours and stir before drinking; avoid freezing.
