Irish Mule cocktail recipe - featured image

A crisp and lively Irish Mule cocktail featuring smooth Jameson whiskey, zesty fresh lime juice, and spicy ginger beer. Perfect for a refreshing summer drink with a bright citrus twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge or wheel for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprig (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your copper mug or glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Cut a lime in half and juice it using a citrus juicer until you have about 1 ounce of fresh lime juice.
  3. Fill the chilled mug or glass with plenty of ice cubes.
  4. Measure and pour 2 ounces of Jameson Irish Whiskey over the ice.
  5. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice.
  6. Slowly pour 4 to 6 ounces of ginger beer over the mixture.
  7. Gently stir with a spoon or straw to combine flavors without losing carbonation.
  8. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel and optionally a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Always use freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. Chill your glass beforehand to keep the drink icy cold. Use a good-quality spicy ginger beer like Fever-Tree or Goslingโ€™s. Stir gently to preserve carbonation. Adjust ginger beer amount to taste. Avoid ginger ale as it is too sweet and flat. For a lighter version, replace half the ginger beer with sparkling water. Garnish with mint or other herbs for variation.
