Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) vodka
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) lavender simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) triple sec or Cointreau
  • Granulated sugar (for the rim)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: dried lavender buds or lemon twist for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into granulated sugar to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. If making lavender simple syrup: combine ยฝ cup sugar, ยฝ cup water, and 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender in a saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 2 minutes, remove from heat, steep for 10 minutes, then strain out lavender buds.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add vodka, fresh lemon juice, lavender simple syrup, and triple sec or Cointreau.
  5. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until frosty.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass, avoiding ice shards or pulp.
  7. Garnish with a lemon twist or a few dried lavender buds if desired.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Adjust lavender syrup to taste to avoid overpowering floral notes. Chill shaker and glass before use for a crisp cocktail. Fine granulated sugar or sanding sugar works best for the rim. If desired, substitute vodka with gin for an herbal twist or use sugar substitutes for a low-carb version.
