A simple and elegant sparkling cocktail combining fresh mandarin juice, champagne, and a touch of sweetness, perfect for summer parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 medium mandarin oranges, peeled and juiced (about ยฝ cup or 120 ml fresh juice)
  • 1 bottle champagne (brut or extra dry, about 750 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Mandarin slices or twists for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and juice 3-4 medium mandarins to yield about ยฝ cup (120 ml) of fresh juice. Strain to remove seeds or pulp if desired.
  2. In a mixing pitcher, combine the mandarin juice, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup, and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice. Stir gently to blend.
  3. Chill champagne flutes in the fridge for about 15 minutes or fill with ice to cool, then discard ice before pouring.
  4. Slowly pour 4 to 5 ounces (120โ€“150 ml) of chilled champagne into each glass, pouring gently to preserve bubbles.
  5. Spoon 1 to 2 ounces (30โ€“60 ml) of the mandarin juice mixture on top of the champagne to create a layered effect.
  6. Garnish with a thin slice or twist of mandarin on the rim of the glass and serve immediately.

Notes

Pour champagne slowly and tilt the glass to preserve bubbles. Prepare juice mixture just before serving for freshness. Pre-chill glasses to keep cocktail crisp without watering down with ice. Fresh mandarin juice is essential for best flavor. Simple syrup can be adjusted to taste. For non-alcoholic version, substitute champagne with sparkling water or grape juice and reduce simple syrup slightly.
