A simple, tropical drink combining ripe mangoes and coconut water for a refreshing and hydrating summer beverage. Easy to make with minimal ingredients and perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 300g)
  • 2 cups coconut water (475 ml), natural and unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup filtered water (240 ml)
  • 12 teaspoons sweetener (organic cane sugar or honey), optional
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Optional: mint leaves for garnish or muddling
  • Optional: chili powder or Tajรญn for a spicy kick
  • Optional: sparkling water to replace filtered water for a bubbly twist

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop ripe mangoes into chunks (about 2 cups or 300g).
  2. Add mango chunks and 1 cup (240 ml) of coconut water to a blender. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  3. Optional: Pour the mango mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher for a smoother texture, pressing the pulp to extract liquid.
  4. Stir in the remaining 1 cup (235 ml) of coconut water and 1 cup (240 ml) of filtered water to the pitcher.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice and 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (honey or sugar) to taste. Stir well until dissolved.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the agua fresca over. Garnish with lime wedges or fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for best flavor; underripe mangoes result in a less sweet drink. Chill ingredients beforehand to avoid diluting with too much ice. Adjust sweetness carefully as mango and coconut water are naturally sweet. For a bubbly version, add sparkling water before serving. Frozen mango chunks can be used as ice cubes to avoid dilution.
