A quick and easy homemade tropical beverage combining fresh mango and dragon fruit for a refreshing summer drink that’s colorful, healthy, and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh mango, peeled and chopped (about 1 large mango)
  • 1 medium dragon fruit (pitaya), peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • A few sprigs of mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit (5 minutes): Peel the mango and dragon fruit. Slice off the mango skin and cut the flesh into chunks. Cut the dragon fruit in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon before cubing it. Youโ€™ll want about 1 cup of each fruit.
  2. Juice the Lime (2 minutes): Roll the lime on the counter to loosen the juice before cutting and squeezing out 1 tablespoon of fresh juice. Remove seeds using a small sieve or your fingers.
  3. Blend Ingredients (3 minutes): Add mango chunks, dragon fruit cubes, coconut water, lime juice, and optional honey or agave into the blender. Toss in the ice cubes last. Blend on high until smooth and frothy, about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Taste and Adjust (1 minute): Taste the drink. If it needs more sweetness, add a little more honey or agave. For a tangier kick, add a splash more lime juice. If too thick, add a splash more coconut water and blend again briefly.
  5. Serve immediately: Pour into tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Optionally add a slice of lime or a few dragon fruit cubes on a skewer for extra presentation.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for natural sweetness and creamy texture. Avoid over-blending to keep fresh fruit flavors vibrant. For a fizzy twist, substitute coconut water with sparkling water just before serving. Frozen fruit can be used to make a thicker, slushier drink and reduce or omit ice cubes accordingly. Pre-chill glasses for a cooler serving experience. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours and stir before serving. Avoid reheating.
