A bright and tropical twist on the classic tequila sunrise, featuring fresh mango puree for a luscious, refreshing cocktail perfect for sunny days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh mango, peeled and chopped (or 1 cup frozen mango chunks, thawed)
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco (100% agave, e.g., Espolรฒn)
  • 4 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 1 ounce grenadine syrup
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Mango slice or orange wheel for garnish
  • Optional: sprig of fresh mint

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped fresh or thawed frozen mango into a blender and blend until smooth and silky, about 30 seconds. Add a splash of orange juice if too thick.
  2. Squeeze fresh orange and lime juice into separate containers.
  3. Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice cubes to chill.
  4. Pour in the mango puree first, followed by the tequila and orange juice. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Slowly pour the grenadine syrup down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon to create the sunrise gradient. Do not stir.
  6. Garnish with a slice of mango or orange and a sprig of mint if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not over-blend mango puree; keep it slightly thick for body. Pour grenadine slowly to maintain layers. Use fresh citrus juice for best flavor. Large clear ice cubes slow dilution. Prepare fresh before serving for best color and taste.
