Moscow Mule Cocktail - featured image

A simple, crisp, and lively Moscow Mule cocktail made with vodka, fresh lime juice, and spicy ginger beer. Perfect for quick preparation and refreshing enjoyment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka (e.g., Titoโ€™s or Absolut)
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • 4 to 6 ounces crisp ginger beer (e.g., Fever-Tree or Q Mixers)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill the mug or glass)
  • Lime wedge or wheel (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprig (optional, for aroma and garnish)
  • Optional: splash of simple syrup or honey (for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Chill your copper mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze about half a lime to get 0.75 ounces of fresh lime juice, straining out any seeds.
  3. Pour 2 ounces of vodka and the fresh lime juice into the chilled mug.
  4. Fill the mug nearly to the top with ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour 4 to 6 ounces of ginger beer over the ice, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
  6. Stir gently with a spoon or stirrer to combine ingredients without flattening the fizz.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel and optionally a fresh mint sprig.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Choose a ginger beer with natural ginger heat and crisp carbonation, avoiding overly sweet or syrupy versions. Chill the mug and use plenty of ice to keep the drink cold and refreshing. Stir gently to preserve fizz. For less sweetness, use diet ginger beer or add sparkling water.
