A bold and vibrant non-alcoholic mocktail featuring tangy tamarind, fresh lime juice, and a touch of sweetness, perfect for summer refreshment without the buzz.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) tamarind paste
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) agave syrup or honey
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) cold water or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt and chili powder (optional, for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rim: Mix equal parts salt and chili powder on a small plate if using. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into the salt mixture to coat. Set aside.
  2. Squeeze fresh lime juice: Measure out 2 ounces (60 ml) of fresh lime juice.
  3. Measure tamarind paste: Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of tamarind paste to your shaker. If thick, stir with a little water to loosen.
  4. Add sweetener: Pour in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of agave syrup or honey. Adjust to taste.
  5. Add cold water or sparkling water: Pour 4 ounces (120 ml) into the shaker.
  6. Add ice cubes: Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  7. Shake well: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  8. Strain and serve: Pour the mocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge if desired.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Adjust sweetness to taste. Chill shaker and glass before use for a crisp drink. Sparkling water adds fizz. Tamarind concentrate can be used but dilute properly. Rim glass with salt and chili powder for a spicy kick.
