A bright and chill Paloma cocktail made with fresh grapefruit juice, tequila blanco, and sparkling water. This easy-to-make drink is perfect for any occasion and offers a refreshing balance of tart, sweet, and fizzy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Fresh Grapefruit Juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Sparkling Water (to top, about 2-3 oz / 60-90 ml)
  • Salt (for rimming glass, optional)
  • Ice Cubes (large cubes preferred)
  • Grapefruit Wedge or Twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rub a grapefruit wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into a small plate of salt to coat the edge evenly. Set aside.
  2. Squeeze 2 ounces (60 ml) of fresh grapefruit juice and 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of lime juice into your cocktail shaker.
  3. Pour in 2 ounces (60 ml) of tequila blanco and 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of simple syrup. Adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. Add enough ice to chill the mixture thoroughly (about 4-5 medium cubes).
  5. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well combined and chilled.
  6. Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice cubes, then strain the cocktail mixture over the ice.
  7. Top with about 2 to 3 ounces (60-90 ml) of sparkling water.
  8. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or twist on the rim and give a gentle stir before serving.

Notes

Use fresh grapefruit juice for best flavor. Adjust simple syrup to taste or substitute with agave nectar or sugar-free sweetener for low-sugar versions. Add a pinch of salt in the shaker to soften bitterness if needed. Use large ice cubes to keep the drink crisp longer. Add sparkling water just before serving to maintain fizz. The recipe scales easily for multiple servings.
