A bright, tangy, and cooling margarita featuring fresh passion fruit pulp, tequila blanco, and lime juice, perfect for summer and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 2 tbsp (30 grams) fresh passion fruit pulp or 2 tbsp (30 ml) unsweetened passion fruit juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur (Triple sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier)
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt (optional, for rimming the glass)
  • Garnish: lime wedges or thin passion fruit slices

Instructions

  1. Cut two ripe passion fruits in half and scoop out the pulp and seeds into a small bowl. Optionally strain seeds for smoothness.
  2. Roll the lime on the counter, cut in half, and juice until you have 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice. Strain out seeds if needed.
  3. Optional: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into coarse salt. Set aside.
  4. Add tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and passion fruit pulp into a cocktail shaker with a generous handful of ice cubes.
  5. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
  6. Strain the cocktail over fresh ice cubes in the prepared glass using a fine mesh strainer to catch seeds and ice shards.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge or thin slice of passion fruit and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust simple syrup to taste for sweetness. Shake with plenty of ice to chill and dilute properly. For a slushy version, blend with ice instead of shaking. Use fresh passion fruit and lime juice for best flavor. Salt rim is optional and can be mixed with chili powder for a spicy kick. Store leftover mix without ice in fridge up to 24 hours; shake with fresh ice before serving.
