passion fruit mojito - featured image

A vibrant and tropical twist on the classic mojito, combining fresh passion fruit pulp with mint, white rum, and soda water for a refreshing summer cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2โ€“3 fresh passion fruits (about 3 tablespoons/45 ml pulp)
  • 10โ€“12 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) white rum
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) granulated sugar or simple syrup
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) soda water, chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: lime wedges and extra mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. Cut 2โ€“3 ripe passion fruits in half and scoop out about 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of pulp with seeds into a glass or small bowl.
  2. Place 10โ€“12 fresh mint leaves and 2 teaspoons (10 ml) granulated sugar or simple syrup in the glass. Gently muddle the mint leaves to release oils without shredding them, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add 1 ounce (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice and 2 ounces (60 ml) white rum to the glass. Stir gently for about 15 seconds to combine.
  4. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice cubes.
  5. Pour 4 ounces (120 ml) chilled soda water over the ice and stir gently once or twice to mix without flattening the fizz.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Notes

Be gentle when muddling mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh passion fruit pulp with seeds for best texture and flavor. Stir soda water gently to preserve carbonation. Use large clear ice cubes to keep the drink cold longer without watering it down quickly. Adjust sugar and lime juice to taste.
