A light, festive, and refreshing sparkling wine sangria featuring fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries with a splash of citrus and sweetness. Perfect for summer parties and easy to prepare ahead.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) sparkling wine or Prosecco, chilled
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec) – optional
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries under cold water. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin pieces, leaving blueberries and raspberries whole.
  2. Roll the lemons on the counter to loosen the juice, then cut them in half and squeeze out about 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice. Remove any seeds.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the sliced and whole berries with the orange liqueur (if using), lemon juice, and simple syrup or agave nectar. Stir gently to coat the fruit and dissolve the syrup slightly.
  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2 hours, to let the flavors mingle and the berries soften slightly.
  5. Just before serving, pour the chilled sparkling wine into the pitcher and stir gently to combine, being careful not to lose the bubbles.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes and ladle the sangria, ensuring each glass gets plenty of berries. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

Prepare the fruit, lemon juice, and syrup mixture up to 24 hours in advance and add sparkling wine just before serving to keep the fizz fresh. Use dry sparkling wine like Prosecco or Brut Champagne to avoid excessive sweetness. Frozen berries can be used and double as ice cubes. Adjust sweetness by tasting before adding more syrup. Garnish with fresh mint or lemon wheels for presentation.
