A perfectly balanced frozen strawberry daiquiri slushie that is sweet, tart, and boozy, ideal for summer parties and refreshing hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 grams) fresh strawberries, rinsed and hulled
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) white rum
  • 3 cups (about 20 ounces / 570 grams) ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons strawberry syrup or grenadine

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 1 pound (450 grams) of fresh strawberries. If using frozen, no need to thaw.
  2. Squeeze fresh lime juice until you have 1/4 cup (60 ml). Strain out seeds to avoid bitterness.
  3. Combine strawberries, 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar, 1/2 cup (120 ml) white rum, lime juice, and 3 cups (about 570 grams) of ice cubes into the blender.
  4. Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for about 1-2 minutes or until the mixture reaches a smooth, slushie consistency without large ice chunks.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lime juice if needed, then pulse a few seconds more to mix.
  6. Pour into glasses immediately, garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wedge, and add a straw.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and color, but frozen strawberries work well too. Adjust sugar and lime juice to balance sweetness and tartness. Use fresh lime juice instead of bottled for best taste. Chill glasses before serving to keep the slush colder longer. If mixture is too thin, add more ice; if too thick, add a splash of rum or lime juice.
