Refreshing Sand Bucket Tropical Punch - featured image

A quick and easy tropical punch perfect for beach parties, combining pineapple juice, citrus, coconut water, and a splash of rum for a refreshing, crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) pineapple juice, fresh if possible
  • 2 cups (480 ml) orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed or high-quality brand
  • 2 cups (480 ml) lemon-lime soda, chilled (can substitute with sparkling water for less sweetness)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) coconut water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) grenadine syrup
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 medium orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lime, thinly sliced
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • 1 to 2 cups (240480 ml) rum, light or coconut rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill all your liquids ahead of time: pineapple juice, orange juice, soda, and coconut water.
  2. Wash and thinly slice the orange and lime. Cut fresh pineapple into bite-sized chunks. Set aside a few mint leaves for garnish.
  3. In your sand bucket or punch bowl, pour the pineapple juice and orange juice. Stir gently to mix evenly.
  4. Add the coconut water and grenadine syrup. The grenadine will settle near the bottom at first but will gradually swirl up, creating a gradient effect.
  5. Pour in the lemon-lime soda slowly to keep the fizz. Stir gently without overdoing it.
  6. If using, add the rum now.
  7. Drop in the fresh pineapple chunks, orange slices, lime slices, and mint leaves.
  8. Add ice cubes or large ice blocks to keep the punch cold.
  9. Let the punch sit for 10-15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  10. Serve with a ladle into glasses or directly from the bucket using a large spoon. Remind guests to stir occasionally.

Notes

Pre-chill all liquids to reduce the need for ice and avoid watering down the punch. Add soda last and stir gently to preserve fizz. Fresh fruit is best for flavor and appearance. Adjust rum quantity to taste or omit for a non-alcoholic version. Use frozen fruit chunks in ice trays for decorative ice that won’t dilute the punch.
