A quick and easy blueberry mint mojito that combines fresh blueberries, mint, lime, rum, and soda water for a light, crisp, and festive cocktail perfect for summer gatherings and patriotic celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 oz (60 ml) white rum
  • 3/4 oz (22 ml) simple syrup
  • 4 oz (120 ml) soda water or sparkling water
  • Ice (crushed or cubed)
  • Optional: blueberry garnish (whole blueberries on a skewer)
  • Optional: mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place fresh blueberries and mint leaves into a highball glass. Gently muddle for 2-3 minutes to release juices and mint oils without pulverizing.
  2. Add freshly squeezed lime juice and simple syrup. Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine flavors.
  3. Fill the glass almost to the top with crushed or cubed ice, then pour in the white rum. Stir lightly.
  4. Top with soda water, pouring gently to maintain fizz. Stir lightly to mix.
  5. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a few whole blueberries on top. Serve immediately with a straw or as is.

Notes

Use fresh mint leaves and freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. Avoid over-muddling to prevent bitterness. Crushed ice chills faster and dilutes evenly. For a non-alcoholic version, omit rum and add extra soda water or lemon-lime soda. Muddled blueberry and mint mixture can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge; add rum and soda water just before serving.
