strawberry rose lemonade recipe - featured image

A refreshing and elegant summer drink combining fresh strawberries, zesty lemon juice, and a delicate hint of rose water. Perfect for backyard barbecues, brunches, or cooling off on a hot day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 45 medium lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste; can substitute honey or agave)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons rose water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry puree: Wash, hull, and slice 2 cups of fresh strawberries. Blend until smooth but slightly textured. Optionally strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
  2. Juice the lemons: Roll 4 to 5 medium lemons, cut in half, and extract 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, removing seeds.
  3. Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 3/4 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Warm over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Mix all together: In a large pitcher, combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, and cooled simple syrup. Add 3 cups cold water and stir well. Adjust sweetness or tartness as desired.
  5. Add rose water and chill: Stir in 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons rose water carefully. Add ice cubes or serve over ice. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use ripe, juicy strawberries for best flavor. Slowly add rose water and taste to avoid overpowering floral notes. Let lemonade chill for at least 30 minutes for best flavor melding. Can substitute sugar with honey, agave, or stevia for lower sugar options. For sparkling lemonade, replace some or all water with sparkling water.
